5/2 May 15-th, is Peace Officers Memorial Day with May 11-th through the 17-th, as National Police Week. In 2024, a total of 147-law enforcement officers died in the line of duty across the United States. This was a 25% increase compared to the 118-officers who died in 2023. The law enforcement profession is listed among the most dangerous jobs in the country.
