Coconino Health Department Warning About Unlicensed Food Vendors

8/25 The Coconino County Health Department is warning the public that eating at an unlicensed food vendor puts you at a higher risk of foodborne illness. The county says they’ve seen a recent increase in unregulated food vendors across the county, typically setting up near sidewalks, parking lots and the side of roadways. Unlicensed food vendors have not been inspected by the health department to ensure they meet approved food safety requirements. The county says this is not fair to the many street food vendors who go through the proper channels and inspections. A licensed food vendor should be displaying a permit on their cart. If you become sick from a food vendor, contact the health department. The same rules apply to Yavapai County.
