7/16 The National Interagency Fire Center says 158-new fires were reported nationwide yesterday, including 6-new large fires. Officials say firefighters are currently working to contain 49-large fires across the country. The National Preparedness Level remains at 4. So far this year, 39,764-fires have burned more than 3.67-million acres across the United States.
