Shots Fired At YCSO Deputies

On Saturday evening at approximately 9:30pm, a YCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle in the JT’s Septic parking lot in Humboldt.   While attempting to conduct a narcotics investigation and waiting for a K9, the deputies heard two gunshots from close range that were fired in their direction.  They made the decision to conclude the traffic stop and let the driver leave so they could focus on the shots.

Through the investigation, they were able to find the suspect, 19-year-old Joshua Booth, and his vehicle and take him into custody without further incident.  Multiple firearms and shell casings were found lying next to the driver inside of the vehicle, and Booth was arrested on numerous felonies including aggravated assault and weapons charges.  YCSO Criminal Investigations is investigating the incident further.
