Hit & Run Driver Arrested after Hitting Prescott Valley Police Vehicle

On April 11, 2024, at about 9:10 pm a Prescott Police Officer was conducting a traffic stop on State Highway 89 at Mile Marker 315 near the Watson Lake lookout parking lot. The Officer had exited his patrol vehicle making contact with the driver, requesting that he pull his car into the parking lot off of the highway. As the Officer went back to his patrol vehicle another vehicle heading northbound collided with the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle, causing significant damage. The suspect vehicle almost struck the officer as he was in the roadway contacting the driver of the vehicle that he had stopped.

The suspect vehicle was observed leaving the scene of the accident heading northbound on State Highway 89 toward Chino Valley. Through the course of the investigation and use of license plate reader technology, investigating officers were able to obtain a license plate from the suspect vehicle. Prescott Police officers responded to the home of the registered owner. At the time the vehicle was not present at the residence, but a short time later arrived and was stopped. The suspect vehicle had damage that was consistent with evidence left at the scene and the driver was placed under arrest. The driver was identified as Prescott resident Vanessa Sin and she exhibited signs of impairment and was processed for DUI.

Thankfully no one was injured during this incident and Sin was later transported and booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of Felony Aggravated Assault, Felony Endangerment, Felony Criminal Damage, DUI and Leaving the scene of an accident.

  1. How do I get Prescott PD to look for my hit and run suspect? They know his address yet won’t knock on his door. I survived a 90% mortality rate hit and run… When their car was injured…. They went full tilt!
Seriously who do I have to talk to to get justice?
