Prescott Man Jailed For Child Sex Trafficking

A Prescott man was jailed Tuesday night on a child sex trafficking charge after he solicited a sex act for payment from an underage female. Richard Douthit, 36, was arrested by Human Trafficking detectives embedded with Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT). He had contacted the female and agreed to meet her at a residence in Prescott, where he was taken into custody. At that time detectives said they found various items of evidence connected to the child sex trafficking count. This was the second such arrest by PANT in the past month.

“Once again, I am proud of our human trafficking detectives for taking another sexual predator off the streets. Crimes perpetrated at the expense of our most vulnerable are particularly heinous. Arrests like these are one important deterrent to this type of crime”, said Sheriff David Rhodes.

The Human Trafficking detectives are new to the PANT task force, having been partly funded by the Arizona Legislature and Governor’s Office Anti-Human Trafficking Grant Fund.
