Camp Verde Town Council to Discuss Library

The town council scheduled a special session yesterday, to shed some light on the issues, involving library content. A group of residents has been active on social media with their concerns over the type of books available in the children’s section of the library meeting. At the same time, the library staff has complained to Town Hall about social media posts that out-going interim Town Manager Barbara Goodrich said could be described as “defamatory content or a veiled threat against staff.” Among five people who addressed the council regarding the library  in an Aug. 2 regular meeting’s Call to the Public, Danielle Church said a library staff member should be “investigated” for approving books with inappropriate content that could be seen by children. The complaints primarily have been about gay/trans content in the children’s or young adult sections of the library.
