Prescott – House Fire

Saturday evening at approximately 6:50 pm, Prescott Fire and CAFMA crews responded to a home in the 1600 block of N. Ca Tim Dr for a report of the house on fire due to a lightning strike. The family had just arrived home and was sitting on the porch watching the storm in, when their roof was struck. The homeowner went inside and immediately had smoke banking down into the home from ceiling.  The occupants exited the structure and called 911. All occupants and pets made it out of the home with no injuries. Upon arrival crews found smoke coming from the attic, and active fire in the attic space.  Crews were able to quickly gain access into the attic space and knockdown the active flame.  Due to the severity of the initial flame spread, crews had to remove all ceiling and insulation from the home ensuring the fire was the out. There were no injuries to Fire personnel.
