MATFORCE founder and former Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk has been named the 2023 Distinguished Chief Prosecutor by the National District Attorneys Association. Sheila Polk retired as the County Attorney in December 2022 after serving 22 years in her position. The NDAA annually recognizes one chief prosecutor who has distinguished themselves among their peers as they seek justice, hold offenders accountable, and protect the rights of victims. Sheila founded MATFORCE in 2005. She has been the Chair of the MATFORCE Board of Directors since the organization became a 501 c 3 organization.
