Motorists on Interstate 17 should plan for nightly Lane Restrictions in Both Directions July 17 Through July 22

Lane closures will begin at 7 p.m. between Anthem Way to Sunset Point

The Arizona Department of Transportation reminds motorists to plan for overnight lane restrictions on Interstate 17 the upcoming week. The restrictions will begin Monday, July 17, and end the morning of Saturday, July 22, as work on the I-17 Improvement Project between Anthem Way and Sunset Point continues.

Motorists should allow extra travel time, drive with caution, and reduce their speed around construction personnel and equipment while the following closures and restrictions are in place:


17Northbound

  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (left lane closed) near New River Road (mileposts 232-234) nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, July 17, to the morning of Friday, July 21, for earthwork and the placement of temporary concrete barriers.
  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating left- and right-lane closures) from Table Mesa Road to Black Canyon City (mileposts 236-244) nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, July 17, to the morning of Friday, July 21, for guardrail repair, earthwork, and the placement of temporary concrete barriers.

Southbound

  • Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (alternating left- and right-lane closures) at various locations between Sunset Point and New River Road (mileposts 252-232) nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Monday, July 17, to the morning of Saturday, July 22, for electrical work and earthwork.
