Financial challenges are prompting Dignity Health-Yavapai Medical Center leaders to rethink how to meet its medical care priorities. The hospital this week announced it is considering consolidation and reduction of some services. Hospital leadership stated that efforts to “sustain its mission and continue delivering outstanding care” to its patients across western Yavapai County are forcing them to make some difficult decisions, particularly given the economic impacts to health care providers in rural communities across the nation. Though the organization did not offer any specifics on what medical services will be affected, it states that the decisions “have been made with great discernment, taking into account the programs and services that are most critical to our patients and the overall impact on our staff and community.”
