When it comes down to it, the Town of Camp Verde needs another well and more storage capacity. That was among the takeaways from a March 22 work session that was the first update the town council had received on the water system since purchasing it from the Bullard family. During the hottest months last year, the three wells were feeling the pressure of demand. Unexpectedly, two customers that usually have little to no need to tap into the system suddenly needed to do so temporarily last year. With current and proposed development, the Utilities Department takes that as an indication of what future need may look like. On top of that, at least one of the town’s three wells was “very close to not being compliant” in the ongoing battle with arsenic.
