The outfields are in. The infields are not. There is no electricity. The walking trail is weedy. Six months ago, the Town of Camp Verde hoped to have kids practicing on the softball and baseball fields at the new sports complex by early summer. Now, the best-case scenario is end of the year. The town staff and Tierra Verde general contractor updated the town council on the construction schedule delays of the Camp Verde Sports Complex at a work session Wednesday night. Councilmember Jessie Murdock expressed frustration in working within the constraints of a matching federal grant that provided $2.5 million more in funding for the $12 million complex.
