With a round of applause and support from his predecessor, the Jerome Council unanimously
approved the employment agreement for Brett Klein to become Jerome’s new town
manager. He will replace long-time town manager and town clerk Candace Gallagher. The
council met in a special meeting last week for Klein’s second interview, but he was hired
instead. Klein said he went around the area with a Realtor and looked at places to live. He
took many pictures with his cell phone of the historic town. Klein is currently a finance
analyst/deputy clerk for the City of Johnston, Iowa. He has worked in other municipalities as
a city administrator, clerk, economic development director.
