Minnesota man killed in Snowbowl skiing accident

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal ski accident Tuesday at Snowbowl. Officials say while responding they learned that 61-year old Michael Amiot of Minnesota was receiving life saving measures by the ski patrol. Once on scene, Amiot was pronounced deceased. The investigation determined that Amiot sustained serious head trauma and was not wearing a helmet. His body was then transported to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s office so a cause of death could be determined. The incident remains under investigation. No other details were released.
