Monday evening, Coconino County Detention officers discovered an inmate hanging by a bed sheet. CPR was conducted, but the inmate was not saved. Officials say the individual was housed in a cell by themselves. The individual was not on suicide watch and answered no to the suicide questions during two screenings. At this time, foul play is not suspected and it appears the individual died by apparent suicide. The inmates name will be released when next of kin hae been notified. The investigation continues.
