Cottonwood man caught burglarizing local hardware store

Cottonwood Police arrested a 62-year old man caught burglarizing a local hardware store Tuesday night. Sgt Chad Sinn says store management called police after an alarm sounded at the business. The management was watching video surveillance of a man stealing and damaging items inside the store. He says officers arrived and sent K9 Otto into the store to locate the suspect, who was not found by the dog. A search of the store found Terry Moffat hiding in a far back corner of the store. Moffat was jailed on several felony charges including 3-rd degree burglary. Moffat caused $1,500 damage to the store and the items stolen and recovered totaled just over $2,500.
