DPS says the trooper injured in last Friday’s double fatal crash on Highway-93 near Wickenburg, was released from the hospital Tuesday. Witnesses to the crash pulled Trooper Casey Rhinehart out of his cruiser as it was catching on fire. Rhinehart was escorting a vehicle with low fuel on the highway when they were hit. A motorist passing in no passing zones and speeding, struck the southbound vehicle that Rhinehart was escorting and then Rhinehart’s cruiser.; a fourth vehicle then hit the car that caused the initial crash. The female driver that caused the crash was pronounced dead on scene as was the female driver of the vehicle Rhinehart was assisting. Four other passengers in the vehicles were taken to a Phoenix area hospital. No other names have been released and the crash remains under investigation.
