Tonto National Forest crews working two fires

Tonto National Forest crews worked the Blevens Fire over the weekend. The fire has charred just under 300-acres and is 0% contained. It’s burning near Blevens Wash off Forest Road 1492. The fire was caused by a dry lightning strike Friday afternoon. Air and ground resources are working the blaze. Tonto crews are also fighting the Sawtooth Fire, which grew to 3,500-acres Sunday; it’s 5% contained. The fire is burning within the Woodbury Fire scar.
