Several wildfires touch off over the weekend

Wildfires burned across the state over the weekend and all but one was caused by humans. The Ocotillo Fire in Cave Creek is just over 1,200-acres and some resources have been sent to other fires. The blaze, which was human caused, burned 20-homes and forced the evacuation of 500-residences. People are being allowed to return home today when the area is safe enough. The Sunset Fire burning near Sunset Point Rest Area, forced the closure of I-17 for much of Sunday. The fire was caused be a vehicle fire that spread into the grasses. The blaze has burned 4,000-acres and crews are conducting burnout operations today to further contain the fire. The Sawtooth Fire is burning on the Tonto National Forest and at last report had charred 3,500-acres and was 5% contained. It’s burning in an area charred by the Woodbury Fire. Tonto Forest crews are also working the Blevens Fire, which was caused by lightning Friday afternoon. The fire has burned almost 300-acres and is 40% contained.
