EA soon available for Verde Connect Project

The Draft Environmental Assessment document for the Verde Connect project on Highway-260 between Cottonwood and Camp Verde is nearing completion, with publication expected by late April. The publication will begin a 30-day public comment period that is expected to close in late May. Yavapai County officials say it’s important that the project team receive public comments on the EA and the project within that time period. No decision on whether the project will move forward has been made. The decision whether to construct the new roadway or go with the no-build alternative will occur after the public comment period when the EA is finalized. The project team is planning a public involvement process. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the team is developing a plan to ensure that information and materials are made available for everyone in a safe manner. This will include posting all materials on the project website www.VerdeConnect.com.
