Paulden man shoots randomly in trailer park

YCSO responded to the 100-block of Bayberry Road in Paulden Friday night for shots fired. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says deputies met with several neighbors who pointed to a trailer where a similar call had occurred a few weeks earlier. While canvassing the neighborhood, deputies met with a woman whose bedroom window had just been shot out while she was lying in bed. Based on the bullet’s trajectory, it appears it missed her by only a foot. Deputies surrounded the trailer at 235 Bayberry Road and eventually made entry detaining two men including 18-year-old Owen Pierce. Suspect Pierce was generally uncooperative and initially denied firing any rounds. Deputies noted seeing over 40-bullet casings on the front porch and over 20 inside the house. D’Evelyn says the handgun was recovered and during a follow-up interview, Pierce admitted to shooting the weapon. He says detectives are asking those who were in the neighborhood at the time and can provide evidence of bullets striking their property to contact YCSO.
