Saber Fire very visible between Sedona and Flagstaff

Coconino National Forest firefighters continue to work the Saber Fire, which is burning between Sedona and Flagstaff near Turkey Butte. The fire has been very visible over the past several days due to the dry conditions and hot temperatures. The fire is being used for management purposes. It has burned over 2,000-acres with 75-personnel monitoring the fire. Some firing operations have been conducted to protect APS high voltage powerlines in the area as well as the Turkey Butte Lookout. Smoke has been very visible from Sedona and the Verde Valley; this fire is also responsible for much of the smoke in the Verde Valley each day.
