Trespassing call leads to struggle between officer, the public and the suspect

A simple trespassing call turned into a parking lot brawl in Flagstaff Wednesday. Flagstaff Police say the manager of Wal-Mart reported that Justus Law was asked to leave the front of the store, but refused. The responding officer, tried numerous times to talk with Law about the report, but Law refused to comply. Eventually Law used his elbow to push the officer’s arm away, which is assault. A struggle ensued at which time the officer’s body camera was knocked off his person. During the struggle, several bystanders came to the officer’s aid as he tried to place Law in handcuffs. Officials say at one point Law even tried to take the officer’s tazer weapon. Once in custody he was jailed on charges of trespassing, failure to identify, resisting arrest, aggravated assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.  video link  www.fpdtransparency.com
