DPS arrests man impersonating a police officer

DPS is looking for people who may have been a victim of a man posing as a Mesa Police officer in the Phoenix area. Last Thursday, a DPS Trooper stopped to assist what he thought was an officer conducting a traffic stop on Highway-60. During the stop, Sgt. Brandon Powell made contact with 28-year old Joshua Hillman whose vehicle had strobing blue and red lights and Hillman was wearing a blue shirt with the letters Mesa Police on a gold badge. It was soon discovered that Hillman was impersonating an officer. Hillman stated that he stopped the female driver because she had cut him off in traffic and that he had the lights on his vehicle for when he made contact with stranded motorists. He was jailed on charges of impersonating a police officer and 3-counts of kidnapping.
