Smoke Detectors and Fire Sprinklers douse Sedona house fire

Sedona Fire crews responded to a house fire on Pyramid View Drive early Monday morning. Fire Marshal Jon Davis says upon arrival, fire crews found several moving boxes full of household items which had caught fire in the basement. He says the home was equipped with a fire sprinkler system, which worked perfectly. Davis says the occupants had been alerted by the smoke detectors and when they went to investigate, the fire sprinkler system activated and confined the fire. Damage to the home was minimal and estimated to be less than $1,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
