Rain, Snow and Wind today and Tuesday

The National Weather Service is tracking a storm slated to move through the state Tuesday. Officials say we should expect gusty southwest winds today and tomorrow, as a low pressure system forms over the west. The low pressure area will drive a cold front into Arizona later tomorrow, with areas of rain and snow spreading from west to east into tomorrow night. Drying and warming conditions then return from Wednesday afternoon through this next weekend. The cold front will spread rain and snow showers across the region Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday; some thunderstorms are also possible. Snow levels will stay above 7000-to-7500-feet for the most part, but a few areas down to 6500-feet may see some snow showers toward the end of the event. High pressure develops Wednesday through Friday, for a warming trend and less wind.
