DPS responded to two pre-dawn crashes today (on Monday). Trooper Kameron Lee says the first crash occurred just before 1-am on eastbound I-40 just east of Flagstaff. Lee says a single-vehicle injury crash involved the vehicle rolling into the median and blocking the left lane. He says a total of three people were transported to local hospitals with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The second crash happened just after 3-am on westbound I- 40 near Parks. Lee says a tractor trailer rolled causing the blockage of the westbound lanes. During the accident, the trailer detached from the semi causing a majority of the load to be strewn about the interstate. The driver of the semi suffered only minor injuries. Both lanes are now open but crews will be working throughout the day in the median to remove the load of frozen chicken from the road.
