The Cottonwood Engineering Department received a letter from FEMA regarding its submittal last April to FEMA for a Letter of Map Revision for Del Monte Wash from Highway-89A to the Verde River or Old Town Cottonwood. FEMA has preliminarily accepted the documentation submitted and issued a draft LOMR for public comment. The deadline for comments is June 27-th. The information contained has changed flood zone parcels. The changes will allow property owners paying flood insurance at Zone-A rates to have their policies re-evaluated at Zone-AE rates, which should result in savings on insurance premiums. Copies of the LOMR document are at the Public Works Office.
