Navajo Nation man sentenced to life for 1-st degree murder

A Navajo Nation man was sentenced to life in prison this week for murder. FBI officials say 40-year old Giordano Jackson was also convicted last November of charges that include 1-st degree murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping. Jackson, a violent criminal with multiple felony assault convictions in his past, had a history of committing domestic violence against the victim. In July 2017, Jackson beat the victim and dragged her by her hair with enough force to pull chunks of hair out of her head. Then, in September 2017, Jackson brutally beat the victim to death outside his house. He also assaulted two tribal police officers that responded to the area with a machete. He received an additional 20-years for the assault on the officers.
