Sedona Police Department’s K9, Max, recently completes National Police Canine Association Patrol certificates with a perfect score.

The Sedona Police Department’s K9, Max, recently completed his National Police Canine Association Patrol One and Two certificates with a perfect score of 100%. The certification consists of an obedience routine performed with no leash or correctional devices and incorporates gunfire, and controlling the dog while walking in a heal from a distance. Then the dog must pass multiple apprehension scenarios including a recall, verbal out, and a courage test. A Patrol Two certification is earned if the dog did not fail a single portion of any of the obedience routine, apprehension, building searches, or area searches. Officials are very proud of Max as they say very few police K9s achieve a Patrol 2 certification.
