Multiple stretches of highways and interstates remain closed due to the storm

Multiple stretches of state highways were closed as of Thursday evening due to the massive winter storm making its way through the state. ADOT officials say with heavy weather expected to last through today, the safest option remains to delay travel if at all possible. Fewer motorists on the roads will allow state and county plows to continue to clear the roadways. Major travel routes shut down yesterday included I-17 northbound at the Sedona exit, both directions of Highway-87 between Payson and Winslow, both direction of Highway-260 between Star Valley and Heber-Overgaard and eastbound Highway-260 near I-17, Highway-89-A between Sedona and Flagstaff in Oak Creek Canyon, Highway-60 between Superior and Miami and between Highway-73 and Globe, Highway-77 between Globe and Winkelman and Highway-177 between Superior and Hayden. Before heading out today, check with ADOT to ensure the road is open. Call them at 511 or follow them on Twitter or Facebook.
