Winter Storm Warning from 11pm Wednesday through 5-pm Friday

The National Weather Service has set a time frame for the Winter Storm Warning. The warning starts tonight at 11pm and continues until 5-pm Friday. Heavy snow is expected above 3,000 feet. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Total snow accumulations of 12-to-24-inches, with locally higher amounts along the eastern Mogollon Rim, are expected. Areas near Doney Park, Flagstaff, Forest Lakes, Heber-Overgaard, Payson, Pine-Strawberry, Sedona and Williams will be hit the hardest. Snowfall predictions include Doney Park 13-to-19-inches, Flagstaff 19-to-25, Forest Lakes 30-to-38, Heber-Overgaard 17-to-23, Payson 22-to-30 inches, Pine-Strawberry 29-to-37, Sedona 14-to-20 and Williams could receive between 19-and-25-inches of snow. A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
