Cottonwood Oak Creek School District has closed Oak Creek Elementary School in Cornville due to road closures and flooding in the low lying areas from Thursday’s storm. This is the only school in the district that is closed. YCSO and Verde Valley Fire spent the night evacuating trailer parks along Oak Creek in Cornville and Page Springs as well as in Bridgeport. In addition, Cornville Road is closed at Windmill Park. Chief Joe Moore says the waters have been receding over the past several hours and should continue to do so. Once the waters have gone down enough, roads will open and people will be allowed to return to their homes.
