Dewey-Humboldt man charged with kidnapping and assaulting a woman over 3 days

YCSO recently responded to a Phoenix area hospital on a report of a woman that had been assaulted and held against her will while inside the Dewey-Humboldt home of 50-year old Shannon Marchus. Spokesman Dwight

D’Evelyn says the victim was tortured for three days. A detailed interview revealed the victim’s ear had been bitten, hair pulled, and she was dragged by her ankles into the bedroom where Shannon blocked the door with a dresser so she could not leave. The next morning, around 7 am, she convinced Shannon she needed to use the bathroom and he allowed her out of the room. Shannon declined to take her to the hospital due to her injuries. Later that night, January 26-th, as the victim was walking down the driveway attempting to leave, Shannon grabbed her by the hair and dragged her back to the house and struck her in the ribs. He then placed a dog leash around her ankle attached to her dog so when the dog moved, it caused her pain.  D’Evelyn say the victim spent another night locked up in the bedroom. Sunday morning, Shannon acted like nothing happened and dropped the victim off at a Phoenix area hospital. Deputies located Shannon as he was driving back home and took him into custody.
