Traffic stop in Prescott Valley turns into foot pursuit Wednesday morning.

Wednesday morning, Prescott Valley Traffic Enforcement Officers observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Viewpoint Drive at a high rate of speed. Spokesman Jerry Ferguson says the vehicle was traveling at a speed in excess of 50 miles per hour in a residential area. When officers activated their emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated and turned in and out of various side streets. While the vehicle was still traveling between 18-22 miles per hour, the driver jumped from the vehicle and began running. At that time the vehicle veered and crashed into a parked vehicle, at which time the female passenger fled from the vehicle and started running east through the streets. Ferguson says after a brief foot pursuit, the passenger 27-year old Tia Alicia Reid, of Chino Valley was caught and detained. The driver, 29-year old Colt J. Rose, of Prescott, led police on a chase for about fifteen minutes, before he was caught and detained. Both were found to have several warrants and were arrested on multiple charges including possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
