Registered sex offender caught with female juvenile in his home

Friday, YCSO deputies responded to a home in Prescott Valley at the request of Prescott Police to check for a runaway female juvenile. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says contact was made with registered sex offender, 26-year old Paul Jenkins. He says Jenkins was taken into custody for failing to provide and disclose several on-line social media accounts, which is required. Jenkins was contacted at the door and allowed deputies to check the house. The runaway was eventually found inside the home hiding in a closet. During the course of the investigation and follow-up by YCSO detectives, it was learned the runaway female set up an online account on a service called ‘Skout’ using a fake name and photo while also providing false identification. Her online description indicated she was 21 years old with an extensive educational background.) D’Evelyn says Jenkins contacted the runaway and she agreed to meet in a Prescott Valley parking lot after which he gave her a ride to his house where they had sexual contact. He says throughout the interview, Jenkins claimed he didn’t know how old the girl was until deputies told him at the door.
