Law Enforcement Appreciation Day – Wednesday.

Wednesday is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Officials say each day over 780,000 police officers across our country put a badge on and go to work knowing they may face extremely dangerous situations. On average, each year in the line of duty, between 100 and 200 officers die, 50,000 officers are assaulted and 14,000 officers are injured and over 300 officers commit suicide. In 2018, 145 officers were killed in the line of duty across the nation; Arizona lost three officers. Citizens who appreciate law enforcement are encouraged to take time to show their support by sending a card or letter to their local police department or state agency, share a positive story about a law enforcement experience on social media, or simply thank a police officer.
