YCSO and Mayer Fire responded to a house fire in the 15,000 block of Cayuse Lane off Rolling Ridge Drive in Cordes Lakes Wednesday afternoon. YCSO spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says arriving crews heard ammunition explosions coming from within the house, which forced them to stay back from the fire. He says crews instead focused on keeping the fire from spreading to nearby homes and brush. D’Evelyn says the house was vacant at the time and a dog on the property was safely removed. He says during the incident, neighboring homes were evacuated and streets into the neighborhood were closed. Fire personnel indicated the fire may have resulted from a solar panel installation.
