R. L. Zeigler Co. is recalling over 12,000 pounds of ready-to-eat poultry and meat sausage products that maybe contaminated with metal. The recalled products include the 24-oz. plastic packages of “ZEIGLER RED HOTS” and “EXTRA HOT RED HOTS” and were produced on Nov. 29th, 2018. The packages have the use by date of Jan 24th 2019, and bear establishment number “EST. P-9156S” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Officials discovered the problem after the firm received multiple consumer complaints. Health officials ask consumers to throw the product away or return it to the grocery store.
