Flagstaff Police are warning citizens about the presence of rabid animals in the area. They say Sunday morning, rabid fox attacked a citizen who was seated in the bed of a pickup truck in the area of Settlers Run and Bear Paw. The fox jumped into the bed and bit the person. The fox then ran off and was later captured a few hours later in the area of Taylor and Hulet after another attack was reported. Another fox believed to be rabid was captured in the area of Aztec and Cherry after it attacked and bit a citizen as well. Officials say everyone should be cautious around wild animals and not approach them. If you see any animals acting in an uncharacteristic manner, Animal Control should be notified immediately. Officials say last week, another rabid fox was captured on the west side of town, along with a possibly rabid skunk.
