APS pole catches fire and causes wildfire.

Friday evening, Prescott Fire responded to the Rancho Vista subdivision off Copper Basin Road. Spokesman Conrad Jackson says initially reported as a vehicle fire, firefighters discovered an APS power pole on fire when they arrived. The fire had spread to the ground, creating a small wildland fire as well, but the first arriving engine was able to put out both fires before they could significantly spread. Jackson says the pole and wires remained intact despite exposure from the fire. One fire engine remained on scene for over an hour until APS was able to send a lineman out to address the issue.
