Flagstaff Fire Department fire managers are planning several prescribed burns to reduce hazardous fuel accumulation around the City of Flagstaff area over the next two weeks; The 40 acre Naval Observatory RX near West Route 66 and I-40, the 100 acre Rogers Lake Natural Area RX located approximately 20 miles southwest of Flagstaff. The 35 acre Airport RX immediately adjacent to the Flagstaff Airport. And the 150 acre Observatory Mesa RX located two miles due west of downtown Flagstaff on Observatory Mesa Natural Area. Smoke will be visible to residents of Flagstaff and motorists along the highways.
