Jerome Fire responds to hit and run. At fault driver flees on foot

Wednesday afternoon, Jerome Fire responded to a two vehicle collision about 1/3 of the way through the switch backs on Highway 89A above of Jerome. Chief Rusty Blair says an SUV crossed over the centerline and struck another SUV head on.The two vehicles collided taking the front wheels off both SUVs. The driver of the at fault vehicle fled on foot , leaving his three passengers, one of which was injured, behind. That person was transported to a local hospital for injuries. All others, including the driver of the other vehicle, denied medical attention. DPS is handling the investigation. No names have been released.
