Platypus Fire near Sedona billowing smoke again

Smoke is once again a part of our lives as the stubborn and long burning Platypus Fire flares up again near Sedona. Coconino National Forest officials say the fire started to show smoke again on Thursday and the smoke will likely continue as the blaze finds new fuels to burn. At last report the blaze, which was caused by lightning back on July 28-th, has burned 1,500-acres. Crews have been working on containment lines well away from the fire due to the terrain it’s burning in. Smoke will continue to impact Flagstaff and the Verde Valley.
