Cat and Stina Fires slowed by monsoon

The monsoon helped Kaibab National Forest fire crews further contain two wildfires near Jacob Lake. The Stina Fire is now 1,500-acres in size; crews are focused on the northeast flank of the fire. The Cat Fire has burned over 3,200-acres. Early showers and thunderstorms quickly calmed fire activity and allowed crews to complete preparation along Forest Roads 219 and 310. Roads and trails near these fires are closed to the public.
