Summit Fire fights a house fire near downed power lines

Yesterday, Summit Fire was dispatched to a possible structure fire near the frontage road off the Winona exit near I- 40. Spokesman Josh Crane says the first arriving unit found the structure to be heavily involved in fire with partial roof collapse. He says aggressive firefighting tactics were employed and the fire was quickly extinguished. Downed power lines near the structure created a major hazard for firefighters. A total of 6-fire trucks were used to fight the fire. No injuries were reported. The structure is considered a total loss.
