CAFMA responds to home on fire from lightning strike

Local fire crews have responded to multiple lightning strike fires in the past few days. Sedona, Flagstaff and Prescott Valley have reported incidents of trees and homes that were struck. Yesterday afternoon, Central Arizona Fire and Medical Fire Marshal Rick Chase says they responded to a home on Roadrunner Drive in Prescott Valley that had been struck and caught fire. Chase says crews extinguished a small fire in the attic and kept it from spreading to any other part of the house. He says though the homeowner was home at the time of the strike, no injuries were reported. If you suspect your home has been hit by lightning, call 911 immediately.
