Highway-260 between Cottonwood and Camp Verde was closed all night last night following a fatal crash that occurred at around 9-pm. DPS responded to the crash, which involved a car and a pedestrian. Officials say the incident occurred between Western Drive and Del-Rio Drive, just outside of Cottonwood. Witnesses told troopers that 20-year old Jesse Eitenne of Camp Verde was headed westbound at a high rate of speed and collided with 31-year old Jesus Zazueta of Cottonwood in the highway. Zazueta was pronounced dead on scene. Eitenne was flown to FMC with serious injuries. His car left the highway and crashed into a ravine. The incident remains under investigation.
