Freezer linked to house fire in Prescott Valley

A Friday afternoon fire damaged the outside of a Prescott Valley home. Central Arizona Fire and Medical crews responded to a house fire in the 8000 block of North Pinon Drive. Fire Marshal Rick Chase says a fire had started under the carport in an outdoor freezer due to an electrical malfunction. The residents were not home at the time. Crews kept the fire from entering the house. The damage was contained to a wood fence, exterior siding, several roofing shingles, a freezer and some miscellaneous items stored in the carport.
